Do You Need a Lift that Lasts?
- Posted on: Apr 30 2018
The decision to undergo a facelift is one that may be difficult to make. The development of effective non-surgical treatments, many of which we offer here in our Reno office, has made this choice even more challenging. Why go through surgery and a subsequent recovery period when you don’t have to? This question keeps a lot of men and women in limbo, sometimes for years, before scheduling a consultation with their cosmetic surgeon to explore the advantages of a surgical facelift. If you’ve been approaching your aging process with injectables, radiofrequency, or Ultherapy, and are growing weary of repetitive treatments, it may be time to consider your alternative for a lift that lasts.
Are You a Candidate for a Facelift?
The perception that only “older folks” get facelifts is all wrong. Statistics show that surgical facelifts are popular among men and women as young as their forties. Non-smokers who are in good general health are ideal candidates for facelift procedures. There is also data that suggests the happiest patients are those who become well-informed about their procedure and the possible results before they commit to surgery. We take time in consultation with patients of our Reno office to discuss what a traditional facelift or RefreshLift™ can do. Additionally, we are happy to provide information regarding non-surgical options.
There is a short recovery period after any facelift procedure. The RefreshLift technique developed by Dr. Dahan involves smaller incisions and subdermal repositioning of the neck and facial tissues in the cheek area. The mild nature of repositioning achieves noticeable lift without the telltale tightness that sometimes occurs with traditional facelift techniques. This procedure is gentle and precise enough to be performed with local anesthetic and “twilight” sedation. Patients go home the same day and return to our office the following day for a brief examination. Recovery from the RefreshLift is slightly shorter than a traditional facelift and usually involves less swelling and bruising.
Facial aging is something that we can address through either surgical or non-surgical methods. To learn more about the services that will best suit your needs, call (775) 826-4477.
