What Is Cellfina™?

woman with cellulite problem on light background Cellulite can be a nasty surprise on that first warm day of spring when it’s time to break out that bikini, and the bad news is that you may have it even if you are in great shape. But the good news is that you don’t have to live with cellulite, thanks to Cellfina™!

What Is Cellulite, Anyway?

Cellulite is (unfortunately for us women) most often found in females. It is that dimpled skin, often referred to as “cottage cheese” skin, that appears on the thighs and buttocks. It is often just a part of getting older, but weight, genetic factors, hormones, and amount of muscle tone can also be a factor into how much cellulite a person has.

What Can You Do About Cellulite?

There are many options you can try at home to get rid of cellulite, such as lotions, creams, exercises, and even natural remedies such as warm seaweed baths. However, once you have cellulite it can be extremely difficult to get rid of it on your own.

Cellfina can help!

Cellfina is minimally invasive and can be performed in your doctor’s office. You’ll be given a local numbing agent, and then a small needle-sized device is used to apply light pressure to the bands underneath the skin that cause cellulite. These bands begin to break up, and the the unwanted dimples on the skin dissolve.

The treatment is quick (it typically takes about 45 minutes), and there is only limited downtime needed afterward. You’ll only need one session to see fantastic results for a year, and you’ll notice a difference quickly – some patients report seeing results after only a few days.

Cellulite can sneak up on you suddenly, and trying to get rid of it on your own can be next to impossible. The staff at the office of Phillip Dahan, MD, FACS, Advanced Aesthetic Plastic Surgery can help you decide if Cellfina is right for you, or if another procedure may be better suited for your needs, such as liposuction or CoolSculpting®.
