Who should undergo Labia Rejuvenation
Most women who seek labiaplasty surgery are concerned about labia minora that are too long, large or asymmetrical (uneven). Meticulous closure and reapproximation will result in natural-looking labia minora with no obvious surgical scar or abnormality. Antibiotic ointment is applied to the suture lines and covered with a sterile gauze pad.
What to expect after Labiaplasty
After surgery, most women will experience minimal discomfort and swelling which usually disappears after 1-2 weeks. The labia minora incisions heal very quickly and are rarely noticeable. Dr. Dahan recommends the application of an antibiotic ointment along the suture lines with a sterile pad for a few days and he will prescribe antifungal medication to avoid a yeast infection. Patients may shower the next day and should avoid uncomfortable clothing. The sutures will dissolve so there is no need to remove them. Dr. Dahan recommends avoidance of strenuous activity or vigorous exercise for the first 3 weeks and vaginal intercourse may occur at 3-6 weeks after surgery.
