What is the Difference Between a Facelift and a RefreshLift?
Dr. Dahan has extensive experience performing facelift surgery and the minimally invasive RefreshLift™ procedure. These facial rejuvenation techniques can restore a more youthful facial shape with little downtime. Each focuses on correcting the effects of laxity and deflation in the lower face region as well as the upper neck and chin areas. Generally, a facelift is a "deeper" type of procedure. During the surgery, the doctor repositions fat and fascia in an upward, outward, motion. Loose skin is tightened over the new contours, achieving beautiful results that can last seven to 10 years. The RefreshLift™ is also a rewarding procedure for renewed youthfulness. This technique reduces the appearance of jowls, sagging cheeks, and other concerns through directional suturing within the deeper layers of facial tissue. The result is less tension on the skin but a beautifully refreshed appearance.
Can Facial Fat Injections Help Me Look Younger?
Yes. Facial fat injections have become quite popular in recent years. This two-step process harvests fat cells from an area of your body to introduce to areas of your face that are showing signs of aging. Facial fat injections can smooth lines and creases like those frustrating nasolabial lines. This treatment can focus on the cheek area to restore the appearance of high, strong cheekbones, and can also subtly plump your lips. As you can see, facial fat injections work very similarly to dermal fillers! The difference between soft tissue fillers and your own fat is that you can enjoy satisfying results for much longer before retreatment is needed.
How Do I Know if I Need a Breast Lift or Breast Augmentation?
Breast procedures work beautifully to build or restore your optimal proportions. During your consultation, Dr. Dahan will discuss the exact technique that can accomplish the best cosmetic outcome. Breast augmentation is the procedure in which the size and shape of the breasts are enhanced through the insertion of breast implants. This procedure enlarges but does not correct ptosis. If your breasts are sagging, a lift may be in order. You can spot signs of sagging by noticing the depth of the crease beneath your breasts. If there is a fair amount of skin-to-skin contact, meaning the skin on your lower breast touches the skin on your rib area, you may benefit from a lift. If your nipples point downward or rest below the inframammary crease, a lift may be a wise choice. The breast lift procedure enhances shape by recreating the envelope of skin that holds the breasts. Trimming excess tissue, this procedure restores the position of your breasts to a higher point on the chest wall. This can make your breasts look fuller and shapelier without increasing volume. For more dramatic effects, you may consider combining a breast lift with breast augmentation. During your consultation with Dr. Dahan, you can begin to imagine the potential outcome of each of these techniques.
What Are the Benefits of a Liquid Facelift?
The Liquid Facelift treatment addresses a variety of signs of aging through the use of injectable products. This comprehensive facial rejuvenation process takes place in our comfortable office without any need for anesthesia. Some of the results of this procedure occur immediately, so you can leave the office enjoying satisfying effects. Within about a week of treatment, you can expect to see the full effects of the various injectables we've used, all without any downtime! The non-surgical treatment works by restoring volume and curves where needed and also by relaxing the muscles that tug on the skin, causing lines and creases. Because the skin is not surgically altered, there is no overly-tight appearance, just smooth, youthful contours.
What Are the Different Benefits of Liposuction vs. Coolsculpting?
Both liposuction and CoolSculpting are popular treatments in our Reno office, and each has advantages and disadvantages. The primary difference between the two is that liposuction is a surgical technique and CoolSculpting is non-surgical. This means that liposuction removes fat using a surgical technique. This requires anesthesia and incisions, as well as some downtime to recover. CoolSculpting, one of the leading non-surgical fat-reduction treatments available today, eliminates fat by instigating a natural process. CoolSculpting sessions target a localized area of fat with freezing temperature. This destroys a percentage of the targeted fat cells, which leads the body to pick them up in the lymph and eliminate the cellular debris. Liposuction and CoolSculpting both permanently eliminate fat cells. Liposuction can be more comprehensive in that it can address larger areas in a single session. CoolSculpting is limited to the area of fat that can be held within the device applicator. There is no downtime after CoolSculpting, as there is with liposuction, but it can take up to three months to fully appreciate your new contours. We're happy to talk with you more about the benefits and drawbacks of each of these treatments so you can make the most educated and confident decision about how to reach your body contouring goals.
